Always be ready...

You should always be ready to be an example. A co-worker said to me, years ago when i mentioned i go to church, that i don't 'seem like a church person.' I never swore or talked about anything vulgar at work etc., but the fact that he didn't think i "seemed like a christian" concerned me. It didn't matter what he thought, but what was i doing that was showing people I was a child of the Most High? What was i doing to tell people about Jesus and how was I being the disciple he called me to be? I really wasn't doing much at that time in my life.

"Jesus came and told his disciples, 'I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' " Matthew 28:18-20.

If people don't know you are saved, that is a problem! God has called us to tell people about His son so they can be saved and live their lives holy and renewed so that they can spend eternity in Heaven and not in Hell. Heaven and Hell are real places so we need to get excited to get people saved and have their lives changed.

Luke 12:35-48

Be Ready for the Lord’s Coming “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.

“Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

Peter asked, “Lord, is that illustration just for us or for everyone?”

And the Lord replied, “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. But what if the servant thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk? The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful. “And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished. But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required."

Always be ready to be an example. You never know who is watching you or waiting for something to change their lives. "...The harvest is great, but the workers are few." There are more people then you think, that are ready to receive God and His word. Many are desperate to live a different and amazing life that God has intended for us all. We need to open our mouths and speak out His word and demonstrate His love to people each and everyday; every place and every situation. Just ask the Holy spirit to guide you and speak through you. You are not in it alone, God is always with you and the Holy spirit guides you.

"For, 'everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13. Anyone can except Jesus into their hearts, but God needs his workers out in the field doing work! Everyone is called to different occupations and journeys in life, but we are all called to win the lost and direct them to our Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ!
